About Us
We are a small team currently operating out of SilverKey Egypt, located in Cairo.
The development of this software started in January 2011 with one person. It got postponed in February for a couple of weeks due to the amazing revolution happening in Egypt. The development resumed in March with addition of 2 developers.
This is our first product targeted to consumer market. Usually we are doing custom projects for international and local market (majority are enterprise development). We think that Libre can be beneficial for individual and small business to publish their ideas, products and services online easily at low cost. Our dream is to power much of Africa and other developing countries online business on Libre platform.
Libre is a Spanish/French word which means “Liberty/Freedom” – which is an apt label for what’s currently going on in our neighborhood, the Middle East. It is also a name of a native drink invented in Havana called Cuba Libre.
